The Salvage and Rescue of the Tyche

The Shipwreck of the Tyche, Part Two. Two 65-year-old Scandinavians refused an $800 tow during a storm on October 23, 2008. Then their ship motor died, and the Tyche ran aground. The salvage cost more than $50,000.

The ship was hoisted on a crane sequentially until it arrived at the pavement where a truck trailer was waiting. It was hauled to a marina for rehabilitation, refurbishment, and reconditioning.
