How to use the original screw holes in your frames when putting on a new plank

Master shipwright Louis Sauzedde shows us a great trick for utilizing screw holes already in your boat’s frames, so that when you place a new plank on them you can hit the screw holes from the previous plank. Great way to make your frames and your boat last longer!

  1. Thank you for sharing your technique for picking up the old screw holes in the frames. It is much faster than the method I have been using. I completely agree that it is important to not drill extra holes in a frame whenever possible. I am really glad to see that you care enough to take the extra time to do the job right. I have seen so many nice frames ruined by adding additional holes. Frames seem to always break right at a screw hole, multiple holes weaken the frame much more. I am looking forward to watching more of your videos. James

  2. Pretty Slick ! As always good information and I just enjoy listening to that “Old Yankee” talk. He should have his own show !
