TotalBoat Ambassador, Charlie Enright, has what it takes to circumnavigate the globe – twice! His new Volvo Ocean Race entry for the 2017-2018 edition of the race is sure to be a contender for the overall trophy. The Vestas 11th Hour Race team was just assembled and announced and we are thrilled that we have not ONE but 2 TotalBoat Ambassadors in the race aboard the Vestas 11th Hour boat. Nick Dana, on his 4th edition of the race, once as shore crew and twice already onboard, is another great brand ambassador for TotalBoat with his own boat restoration going on at Newport Shipyard. Dana is restoring a Holland 32 Lobster-style boat and is looking for a buyer – altho he admits to wanting to use the beautifully redone boat first!

In this edition of the race, the teams who invite ladies on board get a points credit and they get some big props from us for knowing a great sailor has nothing to do with their gender. Mixing the crews should prove that and we applaud those teams, like Vestas 11th Hour Racing, who take advantage of these opportunities to prove us right.

Keep tabs on these young sailors. They performed well in the last race onboard Alvimedica, and we expect to see much more greatness from them this time around again. And with their talented lineup of crewmembers – we expect to see them on the podium many times and hopefully at the very end, too.
